3. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal information for the following purposes:
Orders and customer accounts
To process purchases, arrange delivery, manage accounts, and handle returns or refunds. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
Customer communications
To answer enquiries and provide assistance. For enquiries relating to a purchase, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, we rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in responding to communications.
Accounting and legal obligations
To maintain required records and comply with applicable tax, accounting, and other legal obligations. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Website operation, security, and legal claims
To operate our store, investigate technical issues, prevent misuse or fraud, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Where applicable, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests are maintaining a secure and reliable business and protecting our rights.
Consent-based processing
Where an optional activity requires consent, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Information necessary for payment and delivery is required to complete your purchase. Without this information, we may be unable to process your order. Optional information is identified where applicable.
4. Hosting and email
We use STRATO to provide website hosting and email services.
Information stored in our store, technical server logs, and email correspondence is processed through these services as necessary to operate the website, communicate with customers, and maintain security.
When you click our email link, your email application opens. We receive the information you choose to send us, including your email address and message content.
5. Payments through WooPayments
We use WooPayments, involving Woo/Automattic and its payment partner Stripe, to process card payments.
Payment processing may involve your name, billing details, contact information, order amount, payment credentials, IP address, device information, and information used to prevent fraud.
Our store receives information such as payment status, transaction references, card type, and limited card details. Full card numbers and security codes are handled through the payment provider’s payment system.
Where available, you may choose Apple Pay or Google Pay. The relevant wallet provider also processes information under its own privacy notice.
Payment providers may process information independently for purposes including regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, and dispute handling.

6. Order fulfilment and shipping
To arrange delivery, we share necessary order information with online retail platforms, participating sellers, and shipping providers in the United States.
We may manually enter the information required to fulfil an order into a partner’s ordering system.
This generally includes:
- The recipient’s name.
- The shipping address.
- The products and quantities ordered.
- An email address or telephone number only where necessary for fulfilment, delivery coordination, or resolving a delivery issue.
The partners involved depend on the products ordered. Different items may be supplied or shipped by different partners.
Depending on their role, these recipients may process information on our behalf or as independent controllers.
You may contact us for information about the recipients involved in your order.
7. Other recipients
Where necessary, information may also be shared with:
- Technical providers supporting our business systems.
- Accountants and professional advisers.
- Payment and delivery partners handling disputes or claims.
- Public authorities where disclosure is legally required.
We limit disclosures to information relevant to the purpose concerned.
8. Cookies and website technologies
Our store uses cookies and similar technologies to support shopping carts, checkout sessions, account access, and security.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the store from working correctly.
9. International data transfers
Our business processes information in Germany. Order fulfilment involves sharing relevant information with recipients in the United States.
Payment and technology providers may also process information in other countries. The data protection rules in those countries may differ from those in your country of residence.
10. Retention of personal information
The retention period depends on the type of information, the purpose for which it is processed, and applicable legal requirements.
Invoices and accounting records
We retain invoices for eight years from the end of the calendar year in which they were issued, unless applicable law requires longer retention. Other accounting and tax records are retained for the periods required by law.
Access to retained records is limited to purposes such as accounting, legal compliance, and handling legal claims.
Other information
Relevant retention considerations include the time necessary to fulfil an order, resolve an enquiry, handle a return or dispute, maintain an account, and investigate security incidents.
Information required for an ongoing legal matter may need to be retained until that matter is resolved and applicable retention obligations have ended.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, the GDPR provides rights to:
- Request access to your personal information and a copy of it.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of information.
- Request restriction of processing.
- Receive certain information in a portable format.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
Where information is processed for direct marketing, you may object to that processing at any time.
To exercise a right, contact info@avatrend.com. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity.
Some information may need to be retained despite a deletion request because of legal obligations or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority. The authority for our location is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany.
Depending on your US state of residence and the applicability of its privacy laws to our business, you may have additional rights. You can contact us using the details above to submit a request or ask about our handling of your information.

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, processing activities, or legal requirements.
